Event description

In 2023, Impact100 Sydney has sought grant applications from charities offering solutions that support people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in the Greater Sydney region.  We received 40 applications from across Sydney, and are excited to share that ten have been selected to proceed to the semi-finalist stage.

This stage of the process involves the provision of additional information by the shortlisted organisations, and the participation in a virtual site visit that is open to all Impact100 Sydney 2023 donors to attend.

Site visits present a terrific opportunity for organisations to bring to life their grant application, for you to meet key people in the organisation and ask questions that help clarify the program being pitched.

This site visit is with Youth Insearch

Youth Insearch is Australia’s leading peer-led youth intervention organisation, dedicated to supporting at-risk youth. Their vision is for all young people to have a safe space to heal and thrive.
Since 1985, Youth Insearch has supported over 32,000 at-risk youth to overcome trauma and improve their mental health, reducing risk of suicide, drug and alcohol abuse, and delinquency. In the last financial year, they supported 489 young people in their journey from trauma to triumph.

Youth Insearch supports young people (12-25) experiencing complex trauma that other services typically insufficiently support. Youth Insearch operates in 38 Local Government Areas across Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria.

Should they be successful applicants, Youth Insearch will use our $100,000 grant to embed one 0.6 FTE Social Worker in Central/Western Sydney to empower 36 Sydney
youth aged 14 to 20 to access our proven program of local support. They will overcome their persistent mental health challenges and risk of homelessness by developing strong peer networks in their community and the ability to access services. In partnership with local community, services and young people, our Social Worker will empower participants to access 3,060 hours of case management and peer-facilitated support. Local services will refer participants. Trained and supported youth with lived experience of participant challenges will facilitate key program elements.

We encourage you to join us for this site visit.
