Event description

Join us for an out-of-this-world program celebrating the release of the new Dr. Vera Rubin quarter! Part of the American Women Quarters™ Program, which celebrates the accomplishments and contributions made by women in the United States, the quarter honors Dr. Vera Rubin as an astronomer whose discoveries shed light on one of our Universe's biggest mysteries, dark matter!

Learn more about how Dr. Vera Rubin's work transformed our understanding of the universe and her legacy of championing women in science with a panel discussion.

Program partners are the Smithsonian American Women's History Museum, the United States Mint, NASA's Chandra X-Ray Observatory and the Harvard Plate Stacks at the Center for Astrophysics | Harvard & Smithsonian.
