TwinsFest is not only celebrating 40 years of Twins Research Australia and the people who made it all possible, but also twin-ship itself and the unique talents and experiences of twins and their families.

The interactive evening features:

• Twin entertainers and celebrities (and parents of twins)
• A fun photo competition and prizes of $50 for each category winner (see below for how to enter)
• A special digital message from TRA’s International Patron, HRH Crown Princess Mary of Denmark (herself a mother of twins)
• Inspirational stories from researchers and twins about the life-changing research they’ve been involved in
• A major raffle with the chance to win a 7 day holiday in a luxury 3 bedroom apartment at Port Douglas Pool Resort valued at $3850 plus great second and third prizes 
• Raffle tickets available here and can be purchased separately from TwinsFest (i.e. raffle open to TwinsFest attendees AND the general public). Please encourage your extended family, friends and colleagues to purchase raffle tickets, with proceeds going to our research. Get in quick - raffle closes 8.30pm 18 November   
• Make a bid in our silent auction that includes two beautiful original artworks here (as above, silent auction open to the general public - more details below)

As a supporter of this event, you’ll also be helping to raise funds for twins and their families, with proceeds from the night going towards multiple-birth family health research. 

Suitable for those aged 16 and above, TwinsFest is open to all in the multiple-birth community around Australia (and globally) - twins, higher-order multiples, parents of twins/HOMs, and their extended family and friends - as well as TRA members, researchers, followers and supporters.

You'll receive your ticket by email immediately after purchase. Each ticket purchase provides a unique link to the livestream which will be emailed to you 7 days prior to the event. 

THE LINE UP 

Jetty Road 

Jetty Road performs live! Comprising of twin sisters, Lee and Paula Bowman and multi-instrumentalist Julian Sammut, their music focuses on powerful melodies with wonderfully crafted three-part harmonies. A blend of country, pop, rock and folk - think The Dixie Chicks, The Corrs and Fleetwood Mac with an Australian edge. With more than 15 chart-topping releases, two CMAA Awards (Golden Guitars), an APRA nomination and countless other award nominations, Jetty Road has become one of Australia’s most enduring and respected music acts.

Flaxxon

 FLAXXON pop duo/twins, Yasmin and Yolanda Obsolom, are known for their beautiful harmonies, pop raps and high power range ballads. They’ve appeared on the X Factor Australia and recently released their debut album, Silver Spoon. They perform live at TwinsFest.

Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark

Her Royal Highness has recorded a special message for us to be shown for the first time at TwinsFest. The Crown Princess, herself a mother of twins, has been TRA’s International Patron since 2013.

The Stevenson Experience 

Benjamin and James Stevenson are identical twin brothers who combine to form the musical comedy duo, The Stevenson Experience. They have placed in the Grand Final of every national comedy competition in Australia and been crowned the nation’s funniest new comedians.

Twins Impact

Hear from leading twin researchers: 

Professor John Hopper is a world leading twin researcher, with a focus on breast cancer, and TRA’s  Director for the past 21 years.

Associate Professor Justine Gatt has involved twins in her research for the past decade, looking at what makes someone more resilient or vulnerable when faced with stress and trauma. She has appeared regularly in the media, sharing tips for mental wellbeing during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fun Photo Competition 

Enter our photo competition for a chance to win $50 each for you and your twin. Photos are being judged by a panel comprised of a twin pair, parent of twins, and TRA, AMBA and ICOMBO representatives. Flashback

Twins, Suzanne and Katherine, were one of the first twin pairs to join TRA (registered as 12-year-olds by their mum). They share their experiences as twin research volunteers for nearly 40 years – and are joined by their mum, Estelle, and dad, Douglas (also a twin).

Spotlight

Clare and Jessie thought they were fraternal twins for 30 years. A DNA test changed it all! They share some of the surprising consequences.
