    Course description: 

    This WorkSafe endorsed program is designed to equip Return to Work Coordinators (RTWC's) with the tools they need to effectively manage return to work under the requirements of the legislation and the principles of effective injury management. 

    This course features an engaging discussion with our special guest speaker Aaron Bowes - Victorian Customer Experience Manager from IPAR who will share insights into supporting injured workers to return to work through the appropriate use of Occupational Rehabilitation services, as well as exploring the challenges, risks and what has been successful for businesses when supporting workers to return to work. 

    Upon completing the 2-day program, participants are eligible to receive a WorkSafe endorsed certificate of completion. 

    Learning Outcomes:

      At the completion of this course, participants will have an understanding of:

      • The responsibilities of the Return to Work Coordinator;
      • The legal obligations of both employers and workers in the Return to Work process;
      • Identifying suitable employment options and developing effective RTW plans; 
      • Monitoring the progress of an injured worker's recovery;
      • Communicating effectively with the injured worker, their treating practitioner and other personnel involved in the RTW process;
      • Responding to workplace injuries.

      Recommended for:

      This course is suited to nominated return to work coordinators and anyone responsible for helping injured colleagues return to work.

      About the Trainer: Meg Hansson, Learning & Development Specialist, EML

      Meg has over 20 years experience in the workers’ compensation, return to work and occupational health and safety industry. During this time Meg has applied her skills, knowledge and experience in a range of roles including as a trainer and facilitator, return to work coordinator, learning designer, consultant and auditor. Meg has extensive experience interpreting legislation and is passionate about helping learners achieve their career and study goals.
      Meg holds a Diploma of Workplace Health and Safety, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Diploma of Fitness and a Diploma of Human Resources.

      Guest Speaker: Aaron Bowes - Customer Experience Manager, IPAR

      Aaron has over 10 years’ experience in the allied health sector, including clinical work as an Exercise Physiologist with a focus on pain management. Aaron has also worked as a Lead Rehabilitation Service Manager and now in his current role as Victoria's Customer Experience Manager for IPAR Rehabilitation.
