Virtually possible: Community engagement in the time of social distancing

Event description

Join this 60-minute webinar to find out how to use digital tools and facilitation methods to engage and co-design with communities remotely.

Community and stakeholder engagement is a critical component of the design, implementation and evaluation of strategic approaches.

This work needs to continue to enable organisations to thrive, and to effectively address societal needs, particularly in challenging times like the COVID-19 crisis.

Most of us still conduct consultation and engagement via traditional means: through in-person workshops and forums. It's what we know, and we know it works.

Even as social distancing and self-isolation practices increase across the community, there are a range of tools and approaches to engagement which can allow this work to continue.

This is an opportunity for us to innovate how we work.

In this online session our expert presenters Melanie Yap, director of social impact at Ellis Jones, and Eleanor Downie, service and visual designer at Ellis Jones, will explore:

      • a framework to assess which engagement methods will help you to meet your goals;
      • alternative virtual methods to achieve these goals, and a simple decision-making matrix for determining if these are appropriate; and
      • facilitation approaches and digital tools to support effective virtual engagement.
