Growing up Autistic in a world that often misunderstands difference can shape how children see themselves. Too often, they are left feeling like who they are is something to “fix” or hide.

This session is about changing that story. We’ll talk about nurturing pride and self-esteem by celebrating Autistic identity as something to embrace, honour, and feel confident in. Together, we’ll share experiences and ideas on how to help our children recognise their strengths and feel valued for who they are.

In this peer group we’ll explore:

Why Autistic pride matters for children’s wellbeing

Everyday ways to celebrate your child’s strengths and interests

How positive role models can shape a strong sense of identity

Simple strategies to support self-esteem at home and in the community

This group is facilitated by Kristy
Kristy is a proud mum to Dash, who is Autistic and has ADHD, just like his mum. She’s passionate about connecting with other families and celebrating neurodivergent joy and all the strengths that come with thinking differently.

Parents and carers of Autistic and neurodivergent children 8 years + including those who are exploring or awaiting a diagnosis.
