Community conversation - healthcare for visa holders in Western Australia (WA)

Are you living and working or studying in WA on a temporary visa? Join us on a community conversation about access to healthcare.

If you are here on a temporary visa then you will know that you do not get access to Medicare. You may have private health insurance but do you know what that covers and how to access healthcare? How has your healthcare access experience been as a temporary migrant? 

Here at Health Consumers Council, we take pride in developing important partnerships with consumers of healthcare to create more improvements and positive changes to the WA healthcare system. This time, we would like to hear specifically from you, visa holders , on your perspective with regards to accessing the healthcare system in WA. We would love to hear about the barriers that you face when accessing health care, your understanding on your health insurance as well as some challenges you face that may prevent you from utmost utilising of the health services while you are on your visa. We are hoping to gather your perspectives for an ongoing project to raise awareness on issues and develop information resources. Ultimately, we hope to better support migrant consumers and community.

This session will be an online event via zoom and all attendees will be paid a consumer participation payment of $37.50/hour. We will send the zoom link to your e-mail the day before the event.
