Workshop details

Learn the art of visible mending through simple hand-stitching and patching techniques, giving your worn or damaged garments a new lease on life. Bring along a garment with a small hole, worn area or tear, or just learn from one of the samples provided by the facilitator, Selina of Positively Sew. You’ll receive a take-home mending kit complete with needles, threads, pins, a selection of fabric patches and a printed mending guide!

At approximately 10.45am, we'll move together to the Creative Lab to join the Great Global Mend crowd, ready to take part in the 11.00am world record textile repair attempt, as part of the Circular Fashion Festival. We'll then have time to continue mending, ask questions and connect with others until midday.

Morning tea, coffee and tea will be provided. Positively Sew will have comprehensive mending kits available for purchase on the day.
