    ABOUT THIS EVENT

    Learn how to give your clothes a new lease on life and reduce the amount of clothing going to landfill!

    ♻️

    This workshop is open to all. Whether you’re new to stitching or a more experienced stitcher, wanting to practice and build on your existing skills. Come as you are.

    In this interactive session, we’ll look at examples of visible mending, and cover different terminology and techniques, discuss mending ideas for individuals to work on repairing or embellishing their garments

    WHAT TO BRING

    * BYO Needles and threads or purchase Sashiko needle $4.90 and Sashiko thread $3.50 on the day from Elise.

    * Garments (jeans, shirts, jumpers, cardigans, socks) or home textiles (tea towel or tablecloth) that have rips or holes that need repairing.

    * Embellishments (buttons, patches, fabrics etc) that are meaningful to you - not a requirement.

    * Your imagination and enthusiasm!

    Tea and coffee will be provided.  We'd like to invite you to bring a small plate to share for afternoon tea if you wish.

    ABOUT HOOP HOOP HOORAY

    Hoop Hoop Hooray was started by Elise as a hobby business over 7 years ago because of her love of embroidery and her want to share her passion with others. Due to the resurgence in mending as a response to the growing sustainability movement, she has been involved in facilitating Visible Mending workshops across Perth. Her aim is to normalise mending and build a community to inspire others, to save textiles going into landfill!
