VISITING; A Designer Pop-Up / Exhibition
Event description
‘Visiting’ is a conceptual pop-up and exhibition that aims to highlight the fluidity of makers and designers moving between spaces, engaging with new environments, and building meaningful connections through fashion, art and culture - the people, places and influences that shape our work.Â
This extends to you as visitors of Visiting!
About the Event
Join us and 36 designers and makers — as we aim to celebrate diverse designs and build relationships within the fashion scene. Expect to see new and exclusive pieces on the shop floor - alongside exhibited works, concept-store style!!
We're excited to host the event at Echo & Bounce, a multi-faceted community space - nestled in Woolloongabba, Magandjin. The upstairs loft will serve as a backdrop for both the pop-up and exhibition, co-existing alongside E&B’s Ramen and Refuge nights.Â
Over the duration of the event we are holding a tiered raffle, fundraising for the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund - delivering crucial and life-saving medical relief and humanitarian aid where it is needed most. We have partnered with many amazing local businesses and existing pop-up contributors for our prizes. The raffle will be tiered and tickets are available at $5 per entry - enter as many times as you’d like! Winners drawn on the 2nd of December 5pm.Â
About Us
Host; Chev Lane, is a fashion culture, online retailer, and events platform rooted in the heart of Magandjin’s experimental and youthful underground fashion scene. Committed to celebrating and promoting sustainable and ethical design while fostering meaningful conversations about the future of fashion.
Co-curator; George Park, and his design label Mercury - boast a slowed approach to wearables and design. Everything is made by hand - largely using dead stock and second hand materials. This ethos, and his work within the garment-making community play a pivotal role to the curation of these makers and designers.
We would like to acknowledge the Yuggera and Turrbal peoples, the traditional custodians of the land on which this event will take place. We pay our respects to their Elders—past, present, and emerging—and acknowledge their enduring connection to this land, its waters, and its community.
