Description
Celebrate with me as I open my first EVER solo art exhibition, Vivir Sin Ti: Living Without You in The Lane Space Bayswater Studio.
This exhibition is a reflection of my personal journey of grief, belonging, culture, and religion, brought to life in my own words and visual representations. I hope the pieces help the audience understand loss, which, in my experience, brings a lot of uneasiness and discomfort to those who have never experienced it. I also understand that grief can feel like such an isolating journey, so I hope that this exhibition helps people feel seen during this time.
In solidarity with this exhibition's messaging, a portion of the profits will go towards supporting non-for-profits in mental health spaces: GriefWise WA (Australia) and Talang Dalisay (Philippines).
Vivir Sin Ti is dedicated to my mother, Karen, who, in her death, has brought life back into me.
Opening Night Details
Date: 7th November, 6:00- 8:00 PM
Location: Lane Space Bayswater (Entry off rear laneway of 5 King William St., Bayswater
(opposite Bayswater train station)
Registration is free and highly appreciated. Any donations received during the registration process will go towards the aforementioned beneficiary charities.
Beneficiary Organisations
In solidarity with the exhibition’s message, a percentage of the profits will be donated to not-for-profit organisations working within the mental health spaces in both Australia and the Philippines.
GriefWise WA (Australia)
GriefWise WA is a not-for-profit based in metro Western Australia. They support people navigating grief and bereavement through compassionate, trauma-informed counselling, peer support groups and community events.
Talang Dalisay (Philippines)
Talang Dalisay is a Filipino organisation dedicated to promoting mental health, challenging stigma and creating more inclusive spaces through art, storytelling, and community-led projects.
Content note
This exhibition explores grief, loss and the experience of losing someone to suicide. Some works may evoke difficult emotions or memories. Please engage with the work at your own pace.
