August Volunteer Leadership Network meeting 2026

Join us for a Volunteer Leadership Network session exploring one of the conversations shaping volunteer leadership right now - connection, belonging, and volunteer experience.

We’ll hear from Nicole Ashley, recent recipient of the 2026 Queensland Excellence in Volunteer Management Award, sharing their organisation’s approach to designing the volunteer journey - from first engagement and onboarding through to early support, retention and continuous improvement. Drawing on Nicole’s recent work to shape strategy and build a culture of appreciation and positive volunteer experiences, this practical sector story will explore what’s working in practice, what challenges remain, and ideas you can apply in your own context.

With volunteer experience and the value of connection continuing as themes at the Queensland Volunteering Conference in November, this session offers an opportunity to start the conversation early and bring practical insights into broader sector discussions.
