Travel instructions

Train: Take the Kapiti Line train and get off at the Porirua Station. The museum is a flat 5-minute walk from the station. Bus: Numerous local buses stop nearby in the Porirua city centre. You can plan your specific route using the Metlink Journey Planner. Car: Wellington - It is approximately a 15-minute drive (21 km) north of Wellington CBD via SH1.

Entry instructions

The museum's main entrance is located at 17 Parumoana Street. It features a modern architectural design with a prominent atrium that serves as a shared hub for the museum, the Porirua Library, and Café Kaizen. Accessibility: The entrance and all galleries are on the ground floor and wheelchair accessible.

Event registration will be located in the foyer area. Volunteers will be present to guide you to the correct hall and rooms.

Accessible parking

Free parking (up to three hours) is available directly outside, including accessible spaces near the Norrie Street side. Free kerbside parking (usually limited to two hours) is available on Heriot Drive, Wi Neera Drive just a few minutes' walk from the entrance.
