‘Voices from Home’, A special one-off live performance
Description
What makes a place feel like Home?
Join us for a special afternoon of storytelling as award-winning spoken word artist Megan J Riedl and local creatives bring the stories, memories and experiences of the Surf Coast community to life.
Through spoken word and poetry, this one-off performance explores the people, places and moments that make us feel at Home.
Whether you've shared a story, joined a workshop or are simply curious to hear what Home means to others, we'd love you to join us at Taphouse Torquay on Sunday 15 November at 3pm for this special community performance.
About 'Voices from Home' project
Voices from Home’ is Surf Coast Shire’s 2026 Creative Initiative Project, led by award-winning spoken word artist Megan J Riedl.
The project explores what Home means to people across the Surf Coast Shire.
Throughout October, we've been hosting creative writing workshops and inviting the community to share their thoughts, memories and experiences of Home through our online portal and Story Boxes located across the Shire.
These contributions have helped inspire original spoken word pieces and poetry, bringing together the many different voices and perspectives of our community for this special one-off performance.
