Voices of Bradfield - Official Candidate Search Launch - Special Guest, Cathy McGowan
Event description
Voices of Bradfield are Calling Credible Candidates
Our community organisation on Sydney’s Upper North Shore has launched an extensive campaign to identify a credible Independent candidate to stand for the next federal election.
Following the model established in the Federal Victorian seat of Indi, and replicated successfully in Warringah, to deliver Helen Haines & Zali Steggall onto the Canberra cross-bench, Voices of Bradfield Inc. is responding to a growing call to have the views of the Bradfield electorate fully represented in parliament.
Spokesperson for the group, Dr Kate Ahmad, said, “the electorate wants honest, transparent and accountable government. The people of Bradfield don’t feel that their concerns are being taken seriously by the existing political parties.”
We are absolutely delighted that our online event will feature as Special Guest Speaker, the former Member for Indi, Cathy McGowan.
We are looking for a determined and community minded person to represent our concerns around the ‘Four Cs’ - action on the Climate crisis, evident failings in the Covid response, the need for an ongoing Corruption inquiry in the form of a Federal Integrity Commission and real Compassion across a range of social justice issues.
Potential Independent candidates can apply for consideration online via the group’s website at www.voicesofbradfield.org
Your MC for the event, the inaugural President of Voices of Bradfield, the irrepressible Dr. Samantha Graham.
Dr Samantha Graham has run a business consultancy for 18 years, first in corporate sustainability consulting (energy, water, waste, carbon reduction) and more recently in Executive Leadership Development to build greater resilience, focus and peace of mind amongst leadership teams. Her PhD explored the mindsets leaders require to think outside the square when dealing with unprecedented times and her recent political work has been fuelled by a quiet outrage at the ineptitude of the country's current leadership and its wilful dismantling of democratic processes.
