Alongside his artwork at Constitution Dock, Rob Braslin will host a series of conversations with guest speakers exploring the stories, challenges, and significance of the estuary and river. These discussions aim to give a voice to the waterway, highlighting its environmental, cultural, and community importance while encouraging a deeper understanding of its past, present, and future.

The conversations will take place throughout October at Constitution Dock in front of a small audience, beside Rob's Inside Out installation. Constructed from discarded man-made litter, found objects, and everyday debris, the artwork transforms waste into a powerful visual statement about our relationship with the river and the impact of human activity.

This project builds on Rob's previous work celebrating the Newton Rivulet, continuing his exploration of Tasmania's waterways through art and community engagement. Together, the artwork and conversations invite people to look more closely at the good, the bad, and the ugly, sparking honest discussion and inspiring greater care for this vital waterway.

About Theresa Sainty
Theresa is a Pakana curator, creator, writer, storyteller and activist with extensive research experience. She enjoys collaborating to explore ideas and champion those that are co-designed or led by Palawa voices, and considers herself privileged to be in a position to reveal cultural narratives and connect people to the deep history of Lutruwita’ s Palawa people and culture.

About Rob
Rob Braslin is a proud Wakka Wakka man, artist, comedian and writer based in nipaluna/Hobart. His work moves between comedy, performance, film and community-based projects, often exploring place, identity and the everyday stories of lutruwita/Tasmania. Rob has been performing stand-up for over a decade and has worked across theatre, television and screen projects.
