Event description

Join us in 3 live webinars with world-renowned expert in all things voluntary sector - Rob Jackson. Rob will build on the webinar series he ran in 2020.

In this next chapter, Rob will focus topics on the next steps in effective volunteer management. The times and topics of the 3 webinars will be:

  • 9th March, 9:30am to 11am - From The Top Down for Volunteer Managers (Influencing): Every non-profit organisation involves volunteers in some way, at the very least on its  board of trustees. Yet establishing an effective volunteer engagement strategy is rarely a  subject understood or focused on by senior managers. In this session we’ll help you to  help your senior leadership gain a new perspective on volunteering today, how their  philosophy and daily actions lay the foundation for effective volunteer involvement.
  • 16th March, 9:30am to 11am  - Measuring volunteering: This session explores the development of methods for measuring the contribution  volunteers make to an organisation and society. We’ll explore how those methods work,  their pros and cons, why Volunteer Managers should measure volunteering and how to  use the data you produce.
  • 23rd March, 9:30am to 11am - Philosophy of volunteering: There is nothing as practical as a good theory. In this workshop you’ll have the chance to  explore what you believe about volunteering - what it is, what it isn’t, why you think that –  and consider what this might mean for your work as a volunteer manager. The workshop will be highly interactive and is always a bit provocative and a lot of fun.
