VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT & RETENTION - with Hazel Maynard

Workshop Description

This interactive two-hour workshop will provide participants with practical recruitment and retention strategies they can implement. Participants will use the National Standards for Volunteer Involvement to either develop or improve an existing volunteer program or order to successfully recruit and retain volunteers; leading to longer retention rates and a healthy workplace culture.

• Understand recruitment and retention in line with the National Standards for Volunteer Involvement
• Develop comprehensive recruitment channels to attract a variety of demographics
• Understand volunteer motivations and how to manage volunteer expectations

Hazel Maynard

Hazel has worked for many not-for-profit organisations over the last three decades, including the Australian Red Cross, Amnesty International and The Cancer Council Victoria. She has volunteered for much of her life and was awarded honorary life membership of the national peak body, Volunteering Australia, in 2006.

Having managed large and small volunteer programs, Hazel is a trainer for the not-for-profit sector through Volunteering Victoria and is passionate about encouraging people who are socially isolated or marginalised to volunteer, and upholding the rights of volunteers.
