Event description

Volunteering in Australia Information Session hosted by Get Involved

Are you new to UQ and seeking meaningful experiences to enrich your university life whilst also getting the opportunity to make new friends?

Or maybe you want help to strengthen your employability skills for future job opportunities?

This session is for you!

At UQ, there are so many ways you can get involved that will accelerate your social, professional and personal development, including:

  • Sharing your experience through mentoring,
  • Becoming a student representative to help amplify the student voice, or
  • Volunteering at UQ or with some fantastic community organisations.

This session is designed to:

  • Equip you with all the information you need to know to become a volunteer at UQ
  • Show you the types of opportunities you can participate in on campus
  • Introduce you to what volunteering means in Australia,
  • Teach you what to expect from your volunteer experiences in the community, and
  • Share the amazing benefits you can gain from volunteering and immersing yourself in a wonderful culture of giving.

Following a short, 1-hour information session, you will be invited to enjoy an afternoon tea with your peers in the atrium, where there will be an opportunity to network with guest speakers and ask any questions you may have about volunteering!

If you are unable to make it in person, the session will be live-streamed on Zoom.

Further details are as follows:

  • Date: Thursday 22nd February 2024
  • Time: 3pm - 5pm (inclusive of afternoon tea)
  • Location: GCI, Room 20-275
  • RSVP: Please register your attendance by 5pm, Friday 16th February 2024.

We look forward to seeing you there!
