Koi Fish Pond 3D Canvas

With Cristina from Solstice Fibre

Wednesday the 7th  of October, 10:00am–2:00pm
Ages 7+
Please bring: Water bottle, morning tea and lunch

Children will spend the day creating their own colourful 3D koi fish pond canvas using a combination of painting, foam clay and collage techniques.

We’ll begin by painting the canvas to create the blue water, making colourful koi fish from lightweight foam clay. We’ll then create lily pads, greenery and delicate pink water lilies using cutting, layering and collage techniques. Once all the individual pieces are ready, children will arrange and attach them to their canvas, adding painted details and highlights to bring their pond scene to life.

This full-day workshop gives children the opportunity to explore colour, texture, composition, collage and sculpture art, while making creative decisions throughout the process.

Each child will take home their own unique textured koi fish pond artwork to dry and display.

Suitable for ages 7+. Drop and go available.

Throughout the day, children will:
• Plan and design their own fairytale story
• Create handmade characters and creatures using needle felting
• Build miniature dioramas and magical worlds
• Explore mixed-media craft techniques
• Develop confidence through storytelling and creative expression
• Share their creations in a supportive group setting

Children will learn all about character making, diorama building, needle felting and creative storytelling in a fun, immersive environment.

Please Bring
• Lunch
• Morning tea
• Water bottle
• Clothes suitable for art and craft activities

Spaces are limited, so early booking is strongly recommended.

We look forward to welcoming your child for a magical day of imagination and creativity at VPCC!

Session Information

Children are welcome to explore the stations at their own pace, try different crafts, and enjoy a calm, imaginative space to create. Cristina will be there to offer gentle guidance, encouragement and support, especially for those trying a craft for the first time. Contact Cristina solstice.fibre.shop@gmail.com directly for any questions.

Families Welcome

Families are warmly welcome to attend together. While the craft activities are designed with school-aged children in mind, younger siblings are welcome to join alongside a parent or guardian.

Parents and guardians are welcome to stay and observe, or children aged 6+ may be dropped off and picked up at the end of the session.

If you plan to drop your child off, a guardian waiver will need to be signed at check-in.
