Create a beautiful butterfly while learning the fibre art of needle felting.

Students will learn how to use wool fibres and needle felting techniques to build their own colourful butterfly design. They’ll experiment with different colours, shapes and patterns as they create the wings and details of their butterfly, with plenty of opportunity to make their design their own.

Once their butterfly is complete, students will arrange and secure their felted artwork within an embroidery hoop, transforming their needle-felted design into a piece of textile art ready to hang and display.

This workshop is suitable for ages 8+

Guardians are welcome to drop and leave or stay and observe.

All materials provided including hanging hoop and ribbon for a perfectly finished piece to take home.

Please note: Needle-felting needles are sharp and will be used throughout this workshop. Children will receive clear safety instructions and will be closely supervised while using the needles. Finger guards will also be available for children who would like additional protection while felting.

Important Information

Parents/guardians are welcome to stay during the session. Children attending as drop-and-leave participants will require a parent/guardian to complete a sign-in and waiver form prior to the workshop commencing.

Session Information

Children are welcome to explore the stations at their own pace, try different crafts, and enjoy a calm, imaginative space to create. Cristina will be there to offer gentle guidance, encouragement and support, especially for those trying a craft for the first time. Families Welcome

Families are warmly welcome to attend together. While the craft activities are designed with school-aged children in mind, younger siblings are welcome to join alongside a parent or guardian.

Parents and guardians are welcome to stay and observe, or children aged 6+ may be dropped off and picked up at the end of the session.

If you plan to drop your child off, a guardian waiver will need to be signed at check-in.
