NZ IMRt Masterclass | Transformer Oil management for Extended life and safety.
Event description
Transformer Oil Analysis: Identification & Management of Abnormal Conditions
Transformer oil analysis is widely used for detecting abnormal conditions in insulating fluid-filled, high voltage electrical equipment in service. This presentation will outline information and recent Australian case studies concerning:
- Application of DGA to mineral and non-mineral oil filled transformers.
- Importance of correct sampling methodology.
- Testing and interpretation of results to evaluate the condition of the liquid and solid insulation.
- Appropriate actions available to further investigate & manage problems.
Power Transformers - Synthetic Ester Retro-filling, Oil Testing & Management.
Content Overview:
- Reasons to change - fire safety, improved asset aging profile.
- The retrofill process with case studies of actual mine retrofill projects, challenges to overcome & guidance on disposal of waste mineral oil.
- Ongoing condition assessment with annual oil analysis. Testing and interpretation of results to evaluate the condition of the liquid and solid insulation. Appropriate actions available to further investigate & manage faults.
Presenting this Masterclass we will have Philip Reilly
Philip Reilly
All the way from New South Wales, Philip's area of interest include, condition Monitoring, Oil analysis, thermography, visual inspection and electrical testing. Philip provides the technical information regarding oil testing, condition assessment, oil filtration and alternative fluids
Prior to running his own business with AffydiagnosTx Philip worked for a few companies including a key role in Shell Oil in Europe to improve processes across Shell's Chemical and engineering division. Philip has a BSc & MSc in Biochemistry.
Come along to this event to gain a better understanding of Transformers and understand step to enhance the life cycle of your transformer with practices both current and future.
