Focus:

Special Olympics is dedicated to promoting social inclusion through shared sports training and competition experiences. Unified Sports joins people with and without intellectual disabilities and/or autism on the same team. It was inspired by a simple principle: training together and playing together is a quick path to friendship and understanding. Having sport in common is just one more way that preconceptions and false ideas are swept away. The ultimate outcome for everyone is to enjoy being active – and to stay active for life!

Duration: 60 minutes of game-based activities and instructional learning.

Sessions include:

  • small-sided games that allow for high involvement
  • games with modified rules, area and equipment to promote inclusion and prompt understanding
  • Health education and social activities

Who can get involved?
