FREE EVENT: Randwick City Council are hosting the celebration of the Centenary of Sir Lawrence Wackett’s first flight in the ‘Widgeon’ Flying Boat that he designed and built at Randwick and launched from the beach at La Perouse on the 8th July 1925. There will be a Lecture by local aviation historian, Christopher Beazley, commencing at 10.00am, on Tuesday 8th July 2025, in the McNevin Room at the Prince Henry Centre - Cnr. Pine Ave and Coast Hospital Rd Little Bay. Light refreshments afterwards with opportunities for questions. Free parking at Prince Henry.
