WACOSS Budget Briefing Webinar
Event description
WACOSS will be delivering a Budget Briefing to the community service sector via webinar at 2:30pm, Friday 9 October.
The social policy team will present a detailed analysis on how the State Budget will impact the community services sector on key areas of interest across the sector, and will look at the intersectionality of the Federal Budget and the State Budget, as we edge closer to the State Election in March 2021.
Joining us will be special guests Michael Barnes, Under Treasurer, and Michael Andrews, Acting Executive Director of Strategic Policy and Evaluation for their presentation, and they will be invited to participate in a conversation with the sector with a particular focus on the trends around unemployment and underemployment, housing, mortgage defaults and rental stress, including any indications of where new services or supports are likely to be needed to respond to emerging hardship.
The WA Budget will be handed down on Thursday 8 October 2020, the Federal Budget will be handed down on Tuesday 6 October.
This is a free webinar for members, but is open for anyone to join.
