Event description
The WA Emergency Medicine Faculty (WAEMF) was formed in September 2021 out of a desire to enhance the educational opportunities available to doctors specialising in Emergency Medicine. The committee is comprised of Fellows of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (ACEM) with a strong interest in the education, training and well being of Fellows and trainees alike. Underpinning all of our endeavors, is the belief that improved access to education and training benefits not only emergency clinicians, but those in need of their services.
WAEMF intends to host local fundraising events, such as Balls and networking events, to promote wellbeing and connection within the emergency medicine community. Funds raised are to be reinvested into educational and training events for doctors at all levels of emergency medicine training. These events will focus on practical skills development, clinical updates in the field of critical care and non-technical skills in emergency medicine such as leadership and communication. The WAEMF will also provide assistance to ensure emergency doctors from rural and remote areas of WA are able to access these educational opportunities.
As a member of WAEMF, emergency consultants will benefit from:
- Priority access to events hosted by WAEMF
- Early bird registration for courses sponsored by WAEMF
- Opportunities to be involved in WAEMF meetings to shape future social and educational events.
