Heard about Claude but not sure where to start? Or maybe you've had a play but know there is more you can get from it, but don't know where to start? This hands-on masterclass takes you from "What is Claude, exactly?" to using it confidently on your own business tasks. You'll do real work with it, not just watch someone else do it.

Led by AI trainer and coach Jussi Luukkonen, the workshop runs as three sessions that build on each other: understand the tool, see what it can do, then use it for real. This day is broken into 3 1hour sessions.

Session 1: Understand the tool

• What Claude is and how it differs from other AI tools

• The three ways to work with it: Chat for everyday questions and writing, Cowork for handing off bigger tasks on your desktop, and Code for software work

• What the model names (Opus, Sonnet, Haiku) mean, and when the bigger model is worth it

• What skills are and why they matter

• Setting up your free account, and what upgrading to Pro actually gets you

Session 2: See what it can do

• Drafting and editing emails, proposals and marketing copy

• Researching with sources you can check

• Analysing documents and spreadsheets

• Building simple tools and turning messy notes into finished work

• Real Wairarapa-style examples, plus the limits to watch for and the habits that keep results accurate

Session 3: Use it for real
Bring one or two real tasks from your business and work through them with Jussi alongside you. Beginners get step-by-step guidance, while more confident users can go further into projects, skills and Cowork.

You'll walk away with:

• A working Claude account, set up and ready to go

• A clear idea of whether the free plan is enough or Pro will pay for itself

• The know-how to pick the right mode and model for each job, so you're not paying in time or money for more than you need

• At least one finished piece of work and a set of prompts you can reuse the next day

• A Claude quick-start cheat sheet

Who it's for: Wairarapa business owners and staff who are new to Claude or have dabbled and know there is more to it. No technical background needed, and no paid subscription required.

What to bring: A charged laptop, access to your email and mobile phone (for account setup), and one or two real tasks from your business. You'll get a short questionnaire before the day so the content can be pitched at the right level for the room.
