Waimakariri Silver Tent - Winter Solstice Circle
Event description
You are invited to join us for our Winter Solstice Circle
Honouring the Longest Night - Calling back the Sun
On the sacred night of the Winter Solstice or Yule. we gather to honour the stillness, The turning of the Wheel, and the rebirth of the Sun.
Join us in ritual and reverence as we celebrate Yule - a time of deep magick, firelight, and renewal. Well kindle the flame, share our heartfelt offerings and weave our intentions into the growing light.
The ancients knew that the winter solstice was the longest night of the year—and that meant that the sun was beginning its long journey back towards Summer. It was a time of celebration, and for rejoicing in the knowledge that soon, the warm days of spring would return, and the dormant earth would come back to life. On this one day, the sun stands still in the sky, and everyone on earth knows that change is coming.
The price to come to Silver Tent Sabbat circles is $30 for red tent members and $35 for non-members. Included with your ticket purchase is a welcome cup of Wassail (Hot Spiced Apple). If the cost is prohibitive, please get in touch.

Welcome to Waimakariri Silver Tent.
I believe that women need to sit in circle, not because we need healing, for we are perfect as we are, but because we need replenishment. Women need to go deep. Sitting in circle nourishes the soul, the heart and the spirit.
When women come together, magic happens.
We know this to be true from our own experiences. We have also seen that something else happens when these communities grow: they can become a beacon to others. Full of inspiration and practical learning, along with questions and practices to support and stimulate discussion about some of the challenges we all face in our lives.
The Waimakariri Silver Tent welcomes all women — Maiden, Mother, Queen-ager, or Crone—and anyone who identifies as a woman.
Together, we sit in circles, share our journeys, build connections, and celebrate the seasons in Aotearoa.
Our Silver Tent is a part of the Red Tent Aotearoa community, we are dedicated to supporting women transitioning through menopause, embracing their Crone years, and stepping into their roles as community elders.
While the Red Tent traditionally gathers near the new moon each month, the Silver Tent aligns its meetings with the Sabbaths of the Wheel of the Year, creating a space for reflection, connection, and celebration during these sacred times.
Each Silver Tent is a unique reflection of the community of women who create it. But these varied spaces share some things in common: The longing for connection and belonging, the sharing of how we are feeling and who we are in our lives. The nourishment of ourselves and each other The slowing down, the rest, the replenishment the simple act of sharing time and space with a group of women the opportunity to let go of the other responsibilities in our lives.
Each event will have a focus on the Sabbat, with this one being Yule or Winter Solstice
We are looking forward to seeing you at the circle.
