Introducing Waipā Tech Meetups!

We're excited to announce a brand-new initiative, Waipā Tech Meetups, in collaboration with Rocketspark, Soda Inc., and the Waipā District Council.

This is a series of events, designed to bring Waipā-based tech businesses together for insights from local tech experts (or "tech-sperts"). Expect practical tips and techniques, opportunities to network with like-minded businesses, and drinks and nibbles in a casual, welcoming atmosphere.

Meetup #1: Growing a Global Tech Business

The first event will feature guest speaker David Booth, Investor at Blackbird VC. 

David's LinkedIn and bio:

David is currently an Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) & investor at Blackbird. He is a community builder at heart, and gets a kick out of making connections. For nearly 7 years he did this at extreme scale as co-founder and CEO of On Deck — where he helped 1000+ companies get started, find their first customers, hires, and investors, and raise over $2billion. 

Prior to this, David built a career at the intersections of product management, venture capital, and law — from early days at AngelList, to Carta, 500 Startups, CoinList, and more. Before that, he built startups while studying at the University of Otago, and worked in venture capital roles at Movac and GD1.
