Event description

Join us for another Agritourism networking event !

This time we hear from Cath Ward and Rachael Fletcher:

Cath Ward is the visionary owner of Pahi Coastal Walk, an immersive 3-day, 2-night walking experience set against the stunning backdrop of Port Jackson, Coromandel. Established in 2022, the walk was born out of Cath’s desire for a new challenge as her three teenage children became more independent.

Spanning a breathtaking 30 km across a 5000-acre coastal farm, Cath’s venture not only provides guests with an unforgettable journey through nature but also significantly boosts the farming business. Operating between October and May each year, the walk creates employment opportunities for the shepherds’ partners, fostering a renewed sense of purpose and community spirit.

Cath’s initiative has successfully showcased the beauty of rural life, bridging the gap between urban visitors and the land, while contributing positively to the local economy. With a passion for both the environment and her community, Cath is dedicated to creating memorable experiences that celebrate the heart of rural living.

Cath will share her story and talk about:

- Why they decided to get into tourism and create Pahi Coastal Walk

- Provide a quick timeline of the business development

- The time and financial investment into getting it up and running

- The effect of having the walkers on the land whilst trying to also farm the land

- Why they were so well received and got bookings from the start

- The greatest benefits we feel we gain from agritourism
