Walk and Wonder / Balls Head Reserve
Description
Join us this Sunday 20 September as we Walk and Wonder our way around Balls Head reserve.
Boasting some of the best seats in the house for Sydney Harbour views, this loop around Balls Head Reserve is a true hidden gem just minutes from the city. Connecting the Midden Walk and Harbour View Walk, the track immerses you in remnant bushland where red gums twist towards the water and the city skyline creates a dramatic backdrop.
While the route is short, it packs a punch with its scenery, offering uninterrupted lookouts towards the Harbour Bridge, Goat Island, and Balmain. You also get a unique perspective on the area's industrial past with views down to the old Coal Loader platform and the vessels docked nearby. The path is a mix of paved sections and natural, narrow bush tracks with some steps, so whilst it is generally accessible, you will still need to watch your footing on the uneven ground. The reserve is steeped in history, with the Midden Walk passing ancient Aboriginal sites that serve as a reminder of the land's' traditional owners. With secluded grassy patches and the popular Flagpole Picnic Area, it is an ideal spot to spread out a rug and watch the ferries glide by.
We will provide hot and cold drinks at the end of the walk.

We're so looking forward to seeing everyone again, especially those who haven't made it for a little while.
