    Event description

Walk the Talk: Telling the true story of food with Emily King, is a free, online summit unpacking how we can communicate better in our food system.

We're featuring seven speakers getting to the heart of the Aotearoa New Zealand food story, each in a 20minute conversation with Emily King, Director of Spira and thought leader in food systems change. Sit tight, it's a stellar line up of people across our food system here in Aotearoa.

    Speakers:

Rangimarie Hunia CEO, Ngāti Whātua Ōrakei | Mana Kai Initiative

Kate Underwood Communication Specialist and Kaitaki Lead, EAT New Zealand

Nic McConnell Director, Marvellous Marketing | Outstanding NZ Food Producer Awards

Floris Niu Founder, Pacific Cacao and Chocolate | Cacao Farmer, Samoa

    Gretta Carney Owner, Hapi (Napier)

Tiffany Tompkins CEO, Organics Aotearoa New Zealand

Kath Eastwood General Manager, Dietitians New Zealand

    Learnings:

    1. Understand how your food brand could better reflect what is happening right now in Aotearoa New Zealand, particularly for Pacific and Māori.

    2. Accurately communicate about organically grown food.

    3. Learn what dieticians really say about health.

    4. Learn how to discern the real food facts and understand them for your own business.

    Who is this for?

    • You work in a food business, and you want to understand more about organics, health, and the Aotearoa food story, so you can better communicate with customers, or clients.
    • You are a SME food business that does all your own communications and supply chain management.
    • Communications experts wanting to better understand (and therefore explain) content about food.
    • Nutritionists and dieticians wanting to better understand broader aspects of food including organics and the contemporary food story.
    • You care about food systems change and want to know more about the topics of health, organics, and the national food story. You will learn something for sure.
