Walking Together Learning Together Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Mentoring Program 2024 - EOI

WorkUP Queensland is proud to announce that it is now calling for  2024 Applications from members of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Domestic and Family Violence, Sexual Assault or Women's Health sector funded by Office for Women and Violence Prevention, Department of Justice and Attorney General to be part of the "Walking Together, Learning Together" Mentoring Program.

We are seeking Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander mentees and mentors and invite non-Indigenous mentors to apply as well. 

Purpose of the Program

WorkUP Queensland's "Walking Together, Learning Together" mentoring program
aims to strengthen Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander sector workforce by investing in a mentoring program that nurtures through this committed and responsive
professional development opportunity.

This project is intended for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander DFV, sexual assault or women’s health and wellbeing workers who wish to participate for their own career development and growth.

Program Details

Closing date for applications - Friday 29 March 2024 COB

Workshop 1 - Getting off to the best possible start (Mentors and Mentees) 
Dates: 17 & 18 April 2024
Time: 9:00am - 5:00pm AEST (Both days)

Workshop 2 - Refresher and Digging Deeper
Dates: 17 & 18 July 2024
Time: 9:00am - 5:00pm AEST (Both days)

Workshop 3 - Final Celebration and Transition Workshop
Dates: 13 & 14 November 2024*
Time: 9:00am - 3:00pm AEST (Both days)
* Dinner will be provided for participants on 13 November 2024 

Venue: Room 1H, WeWork - Office Space and Coworking, 310 Edward Street, Brisbane, QLD 4000

What we ask from participating services?

  • Express interest by 29 March 2024.
  • Commitment to all face to face workshops as above.
  • Active engagement within the mentoring relationship - asking for what you need, following up and committing to promised actions.

Eligibility & Cost?

  • Specialist DFV, SV and women's health and wellbeing services funded by the Department of Justice and Attorney General, Office for Women.
  • Non-Target services applications are welcomed.
  • $220 per person on successful application.
