Join curator Imani Congdon for a guided walkthrough of Asilah Oui: Robert Blackburn in Morocco, an exhibition exploring the remarkable artistic exchange between Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop and the Asilah Cultural Moussem in Morocco.

Drawing from never-before-exhibited prints, photographs, and archival materials, the exhibition traces the connections forged through the Asilah Cultural Moussem, an international festival that brought together printmakers, musicians, writers, and artists from around the world. Through firsthand accounts and rare collections, Asilah Oui reveals how Robert Blackburn's vision of collaboration, access, and cultural exchange helped shape an enduring international printmaking community.

Following the walkthrough, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the exhibition's research, the featured artists, and Blackburn's lasting global legacy.

Imani Congdon is a researcher and archivist whose work explores the communal, political, and organizational functions of the print shop as a site of artistic innovation. Since joining the Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop in 2024, she has contributed to archival initiatives including Where We At, Black Women Artists. Now! and The Only Thing That Lasts: An Oral History of Robert Blackburn's Printmaking Workshop.

In Fall 2026, she curates the Workshop's exhibition Asilah Oui: Robert Blackburn in Morocco, supported by the Teiger Foundation. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Brooklyn College CUNY and an MA from the Institute of Fine Arts, NYU.
