Wallumburn is a humble tin-shed home nestled in semi-open eucalypt scrub, where charred gums from a past bushfire tell a story of resilience. Inside, the house is simple yet comfortable, while outside, the owners’ ambitious vision unfolds: a rain-harvesting creek bed, covered entertaining deck, swimming pool, and dam-side pontoon.
The whimsical, functional gardens use raw and reclaimed materials—timber, colored concrete, stone—and native plantings to blur the line between bush and home. Wallumburn is a unique blend of simplicity, creativity, and sustainability, offering visitors a chance to explore imaginative design in a rugged bushland setting.
