SPECIAL WEBINAR: Wangan and Jagalingou taking Qld Govt to court to protect Doongmabulla Springs

This event has passed Get Tickets

Event description

Wangan and Jagalingou Nagana Yarrbayn Cultural Custodians will be holding the Qld Government to account - to protect our human rights and our sacred Doongmabulla Springs.

Last month, we filed a case in the Supreme Court against the Qld Government to protect our sacred Doongmabulla Springs - the resting place of the Mundangutta rainbow serpent.

The case is based on new evidence that Adani’s Carmichael mine is poisoning our sacred springs and aims to protect the springs using human rights and environmental laws.

Our connection to Country depends on the conservation, maintenance, and protection of this sacred site and the Queensland Government must be held accountable.

Join this special webinar to:

  • Hear directly from Wangan and Jagalingou cultural custodians about why the Doongmabulla springs is sacred and must be protected
  • Learn how this landmark case has the potential to set important environment and human rights legal precedents
  • Take action to hold the Qld Government accountable and protect our human rights.
