Join us for the award ceremony and to celebrate the opening of the Wangaratta Contemporary Textile Award 2025.
This year's guest judge, Blair French, will announce the recipient of the $40,000 acquisitive award. The recipient of the $2,500 Highly Commended Ruth Amery Award will also be announced at the official award ceremony.
The 10 finalists, selected from over 430 entries Australia wide, epitomize the very best of current textile practice. The 2025 finalists include:
Helvi Apted, Elisa Jane Carmichael, Hannah Cooper, Charlotte Haywood, Cara Johnson, Charles Levi, Emily Simek, Jacqueline Stojanovic, Sera Waters and Jemima Wyman.
Now in its ninth iteration, the Wangaratta Contemporary Textile Award was initially established to mark Wangaratta's long and prominent history of textile manufacturing and craft making. In furthering this unique tradition and social history the award celebrates and strengthens the development of contemporary textile practice in Australia. With the significant investment of project partners, the Kyamba Foundation, prize money now stands at over $40,000, representing the richest textile prize in Australia.
