The Wao Summit 2025 is a week-long festival of kōrero, films, walking tours, practical workshops, and community events across Wānaka and Queenstown. The week long programme is designed to educate communities, ignite climate action, drive system change, and a build stronger, more resilient Aotearoa. Grounded in the question, what kind of ancestors do we want to be? this year’s summit takes the long view, looking 100 years ahead to reimagine how we live, lead, and thrive in 2125. The programme features some of New Zealand’s most renowned experts alongside grassroots leaders, indigenous voices, and international changemakers, offering insight, connection, and real-world solutions. From the opening Journey to 2125 panel to action-driven sessions on regenerative business, low-carbon building, food sovereignty and nature-based systems, the summit empowers attendees to turn knowledge into action.

Refund policy

Wao Aotearoa is committed to supporting Wao Summit and all our attendees, speakers and sponsors and trusts that they will understand that we will always do our best to look after them. If for any reason we are unable to deliver the Summit or an event in the Summit due to circumstances beyond our control, we reserve the right to cancel or postpone all or part of the Summit at any point. As a volunteer-led organisation, we will do our utmost to ensure that the Summit is delivered to a high standard. Please have patience with us if the situation does change as you can be sure we will be doing our best in the background to get things sorted. If you hold a ticket for an event that is cancelled, changed or postponed we will do our best to offer you an alternative choice or you will be offered a refund on your ticket. If you have to cancel for any personal reasons, please email us and we’ll try to find a solution.
