Event description

Join co-directors Stu Mackay & Terry Webster, hosted with Mick Fanning at Balter Taproom Currumbin for the official launch of Washed Away.

Australian artists Ziggy Alberts and Pete Murray join us to launch a film that celebrates the unsung heroes of the 2022 Northern Rivers flood.

This powerful film delves into the beating heart of the Northern Rivers floods of 2022, showcasing the incredible spirit of ordinary Australians who became heroes in the face of disaster.

The documentary highlights the stark realities faced by those affected, shedding light on the immense challenges of rebuilding lives and homes.

With a commitment to making a tangible difference, 50% of the profits raised through a Pay Per View subscription service to view the film will be donated directly to this community volunteer project. The Mid Richmond Neighbourhood Centre (MRNC), a DGR (Deductible Gift Recipient) charity, administer all funds raised, ensuring 100% are used to pay for trades and materials for the most vulnerable. This initiative aims to bring people back home, restoring a sense of stability and hope.

Washed Away serves as both a celebration of community strength and a call to action, inviting viewers to be part of a movement that goes beyond storytelling. By supporting this film, you contribute to a cause that directly impacts lives, helping to rebuild homes and fortify communities against future adversities.
