    Event description

Washing Machine Disco Club welcomes you back to the Stranded warehouse for the winter edition of WASHING MACHINE.

Featuring an extended B2B set from Melbourne Deepcast heavyweights MYLES MAC and DJ POSSUM in the laundromat, plus live performances by fourth-world wonders THE GLIDER in 8-piece band format, and local guitar pop iconoclast SOLO CAREER on the warehouse stage. We're going whale deep with this one. As always, jump in, get wet, dance yourself clean.

Wild ales from the Barrel Shepherd and stone-baked pizza from Olivia Pizza available in the evening, for those who want to get down early. BYO also okay.

Stranded Studios, 7pm til late, Sat 13th July. Limited tickets.

Myles Mac & Dj Possum :

With regular extended mixes pleasing home listeners worldwide, Naarm based duo Myles Mac & DJ Possum find their rhythm blending soulful and atmospheric chillers with deep and transcendental club cuts. Be it early doors or well into the early morning, the pair are known for hypnotising dancefloors with globe spanning burners resurrected from 90s & early 00s house and rave scenes in the UK, Italy, Latin America and South Africa, to name a few. Touring abroad together for the first time in 2023, the pair played dates in the US and Europe, and were tasked with closing out Friday night at Sustain-Release festival, treating dancers at The Grove stage to a session of deep nostalgia as the tempos dropped and the sun rose through the forest.

    The Glider:

Led by acclaimed trumpet player Nick Garbett, The Glider captures a period of travel, discovery, and reconnection between old friends. The result is a meditation on colour, texture and rhythm, with musical landscapes and electronic flourishes reminiscent of Jon Hassell and Brian Eno’s Fourth World, all grounded in a distinctly Australian celebration of togetherness.

    Solo Career:

Solo Career is a bedroom pop project based in Woonona, cooked up in the proverbial parents' basement. The music is typical of someone born on the cusp of aries and taurus, rooted in the domestic but churning with romantic and neurotic themes. Sonic references: the guitar solo in burning up by madonna, beautiful stranger by madonna, addicted to love by ciccone youth.

    Washing Machine DJs:

Resident Washing Machine selectors will be on vibe patrol before, in-between and after. Expect anything from balearic biscuits to afro-heaters, left-field disco to euphoric house.... whatever the mood requires.

This event takes place on unceded Dharawal land. We acknowledge and pay our respects to the traditional custodians; their culture and language; and their elders; past, present and emerging.

There is no room for discrimination or judgement in the Washing Machine. Please respect the space and look after each other.
