Waste Action Maleny (WAM) Needs Your Help
Event description
Waste is an ongoing issue that affects us all. WAM is a small community group committed to finding local solutions to the global waste crisis, however we need your help to do this.
We're seeking volunteers willing to help out with current activities and projects, as well as taking on new proposed projects.
We invite you to come along to an Action Planning Session where you can join others in developing local projects that contribute to a cleaner more sustainable community, or simply put your name on a list to help out with WAM activities as needed.
Current projects & activities we need help with:
- WAM Information Booth
- Seed & Produce Swap
- Earth Day April 22
- Sustainable Futures Expo
- Social Media Help
New Project ideas include (but are not limited to):
- ‘Waste 2 Art’ Competition
- Salvaged Fabric Sewing Project & Fashion Parade/Display
- Creating & Promoting a Plastic-Free Maleny campaign
- Creation of a large Soft Plastics Sculpture
- Helping develop a grant proposal for a Maleny Community Battery
- Develop a WAM youth group and projects
- Develop a householders waste app
- Develop projects to facilitate waste reduction/elimination in local businesses
- Film screenings, speaker and presentation events
