The Penrith City Council's Go FOGO Program is offering eligible businesses the opportunity to participate in a free waste assessment to better understand their waste and identify opportunities to divert food organics from landfill.
The free waste assessment can help your business:
🔸Prepare for upcoming business FOGO requirements
🔸Understand your current waste generation
🔸Identify opportunities to avoid, reduce and divert waste
🔸Receive tailored advice to support your sustainability goals
Who should register?
Businesses that:
🔸Generate food or organic waste
🔸Operate within the Penrith Local Government Area
🔸Want to prepare for the business FOGO requirements
🔸Are interested in improving waste management practices
🔸Would like to better understand their waste service needs
What happens after registration?
Businesses that register their interest will be added to an Expression of Interest list.
Council will review registrations and contact selected businesses to discuss the next steps and assessment process.

Participation is subject to eligibility, program capacity and Council approval.
Council reserves the right to prioritise businesses based on program objectives and available resources.
Council may close registrations at any time.
FAQs
- What is a waste assessment?
A waste assessment is an onsite review of your waste and recycling practices. The assessment helps identify opportunities to avoid, reduce and divert waste, including food and organic waste that may be suitable for FOGO services under the new NSW FOGO Business Mandate.
- Who can register for a free waste assessment?
Businesses located within the Penrith Local Government Area that generate food or organic waste are encouraged to register their interest.
- Is the waste assessment free?
Yes. Eligible businesses selected to participate in the program will receive a waste assessment at no cost.
- Does registering guarantee that my business will receive
No. Registration is an Expression of Interest only and does not guarantee participation in the program. Registrations will be reviewed and Council will contact businesses regarding eligibility and the next steps.
- I already have a Food Organics collection service. Can I still register?
Yes. Businesses that already have a FOGO service may still benefit from a waste assessment and are welcome to register their interest.
