WasteSorted Schools organics & plastics workshop - Broome
Event description
Join the team from WasteSorted Schools and for a full day of learning ways to avoid and divert our organic and plastic waste in schools with support from your community: the Shire of Broome, Incredible Edible and Containers for Change
The workshop will include:
- An overview of the WasteSorted Schools Program - resources & support available
- Hands-on demonstration of auditing waste to get schools started
- Ways to close the loop on organic & plastic recycling with students and as whole school practice
- Resources for integrating organics & plastics into Primary & Secondary curriculum
- Hands-on activities
- Examples from other schools
It is recommended that you complete the WasteSorted Schools online learning module prior to attending this workshop: Home – WasteSorted Schools (wssonlinelearning.wa.gov.au)
This workshop is suitable for school staff including teachers, principals, administration staff, gardeners, canteen staff and parents.
The workshop is FREE and teacher relief payments are available for two staff from each school.
