In this class you will create your own unique galaxy… with watercolours! 

Get lost in the stars and enjoy a relaxing and mindful painting class.

Learn how to play with the fluidity of watercolours and mix tones together to create a beautiful cloudy galaxy. Add some stars, constellations or other celestial bodies of your choice. 

You will each create your own personal watercolour to brighten your home and get the skills to create many more!

What will we cover?

  • What materials are good to use
  • Fun warm ups
  • Effects with watercolours – creating that interstellar feel


What will I need?

  • Watercolour paints, brushes and water
  • Watercolour paper (ideally) or any other paper you have
  • You will need white watercolour paint in particular
  • Fine liner pen or white Gel pen would be handy (but not vital) for adding extra details

Who will be teaching? 

Emilie (she/her) is an artist and educator based between Melbourne and Marseille (Fr), working across media with a focus on community-based practice and education. She graduated from her PhD in Fine Arts at the Victorian College of the Arts in 2020 and has been an art resident at Testing Grounds (2020), Making Space (2021) and the Comic Art Workshop (2021).

Emilie has exhibited her works at FortyFive Downstairs gallery, the Abbotsford convent, No Vacancy Gallery, Arcade and George Patton Gallery.

In 2021, Emilie opened Couleur in Collingwood, a printmaking studio focusing on DIY, hand-prints, and experimental printmaking. Since 2023, Couleur Studio has relocated in South of France. Emilie is also a comic book artist and her illustration has been published by the Lifted Brow and she self-published her first graphic novel in 2018 with Tree Paper Comics in Melbourne. In 2023 she ran Glow Comics Trails festival with Laneway Learning, celebrating Melbourne's booming comics scene.
