Watercolour Wednesdays
Please join us at our new location in Waverley House, on the ground of St Andrew's Hospital.
Join South Australian artist Sarah Ellis-Steinborner for a relaxed and welcoming weekly art session.
Watercolour will be the focus, and everyone is welcome - whether you're picking up a paintbrush for the first time or bringing along your own creative project to work on. As the sessions evolve, there will also be opportunities to explore mixed media techniques, incorporating materials such as ink, acrylic and embroidery to add texture, depth and personal expression.
There is something magical about watercolour. As pigment meets water, colours flow, blend and bloom in unexpected ways, inviting curiosity, creativity and a willingness to let go of perfection. It has a gentle way of surprising and delighting us, reminding us that beauty is often found in the unexpected.
Sarah's artistic practice is inspired by the ever-changing beauty of Australia's natural landscapes. Through colour, texture and movement, her work reflects the energy of the land, sea and sky. She believes in the restorative power of creativity and uses art to support wellbeing, mindfulness and self-expression.
These sessions are about more than creating artwork - they're an opportunity to slow down, connect with your creativity, enjoy the company of others, and take time for yourself in a warm and welcoming environment.
No experience is necessary, and all materials are provided. Come as you are, explore your creativity, enjoy a cuppa, and discover the joy of creating in a relaxed, supportive space.
