Watt the VPP? - Creating Fairer Virtual Power Plants

Virtual Power Plants (VPPs) have huge potential to accelerate our clean energy transition by turning individual home solar batteries into a large fast-responding ‘aggregated’ power source. The vision is for batteries (managed through VPPs) to replace fossil fuels to firm the grid, bringing down electricity prices for everyone. 

But right now, many people are concerned that VPPs by big energy companies are designed to benefit them first – leaving solar households uncertain about what they’re signing up to, and worried they are missing out on the full benefits of their investment in home batteries.
