Teacher – Gai Anderson, as Guest Faculty for the Foundation for Shamanic Studies – Asia and Pacific (FSS).

The Way of the Shaman is the basic workshop created and well-honed over many years by Michael Harner, anthropologist / Shaman, founder and creator of the FSS. The FSS is an international foundation which supports and facilitates Shamanic practice worldwide.

The Way of the Shaman has now been taught to many thousands of people worldwide.

ABOUT GAI ANDERSON

Gai Anderson has a 30 year history of shamanic practice, healing and study with the FSS, completing a 3 year advanced course of initiations as well as all the healing and knowledge series. She recently became guest faculty of the FSS – Asia Pacific, in order to teach this important and exciting work in Lutruwita / Tasmania and Australia. Gai is also a Taketina - rhythmic meditation teacher and has a long background in performance, singing and community arts.

VENUE

We are an Eco Friendly Permaculture Village with a focus on community and building something sustainable for the benefit of the planet.

Pre-Visit Information

At Bellbunya you will experience a grass roots eco-friendly, rural, ’get away from it all’ permaculture community experience. We are not a regular hotel or homestay, and not for everyone, so we have included some things to be aware of before you come:

You might want to bring with you: torch, umbrella, natural sunscreen, hat and natural insect repellent.

Rooms

We aim for our basic accommodation to be clean, low-toxic and ecologically friendly. Rooms have thermal insulation and are cooled by fans and ventilation, rather than energy intensive air conditioning. We do not offer room service so it is up to you to provide linen and maintain your room yourself for the time you are here. We encourage community members to work together in the gardens and to find solutions to challenges. Of course, please see us if there are any problems or if you need something, and we will do our best to look after you.

Bellbunya is a fresh air zone. Please take a stroll off the property if you need to smoke.

Alcohol is not permitted at Bellbunya.

Drugs: Our community is drug free. Illegal drugs are not tolerated.

Pets: Please make other arrangements for your beloved pets as we cannot accommodate them.

Phones: Good mobile phone reception is generally only possible above the vegetable gardens.

Television: There are no televisions or other electronic media in the rooms.

Internet: Ethernet cable is available in the Hall and Magpie suite and, by arrangement, in the kitchen office in the community house. Wifi is available in Lorikeet and Wattle

Campfires

There is a fire pit near the community house, the campground and also near the dam. Please bring firewood with you. Fires are not permitted without permission so please always check with us first.

Getting here and away

The how to find us page contains directions and a map plus information about public transport and taxis.

Bellbunya is 15 minutes by car to Eumundi and the nearest public transport. It may be possible to get a lift with a community member if they are heading where you want to go and have a spare seat, if your timetable is flexible. A community member may be available to meet you and return you to Eumundi for $10 per trip. If available, a commercial taxi between Bellbunya and Eumundi on average costs approximately $35 (phone 13 1008).
