Way Out Where? Aotearoa Music Summit

Massey University’s College of Creative Arts and Smokefreerockquest are pleased to announce the inaugural Way Out Where? Aotearoa Music Summit, taking place at Ahumairangi Studios on Massey University’s Wellington campus.

What is the future for new music — from way out to where?

Between the bedroom demo and the album release gig there's a whole industry. Spend a free afternoon with the people actually doing it in Aotearoa. Real answers about how records get made, how artists get paid, how bills get booked, and where all of this is heading.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet and connect with leading guests from across Aotearoa’s music industry, including artists, festival bookers, promoters, music publishers, record labels, digital platforms and music industry organisations.

Spend the afternoon with the people who build careers in music, then head to the finals at 7pm to watch the next wave of them take the stage.
