You're invited to Wayahead's 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Our AGM is both in-person and online.

Time: Drinks and canapes will be served promptly from 5:00 PM to 6:00 pm.

Keynote presentation

Mary Tuisalega is Wayahead’s Income Generation and Partnerships Manager. With expertise in campaign strategy, innovative program design and partnership development, Mary brings a creative approach to mental health education. Her work focuses on developing evidence-informed initiatives that build community understanding, challenge stigma and make mental health information more accessible.

Using Animation to Improve Understanding of Complex Mental Illness

How can animation help people better understand complex mental illness?

Mary will introduce Wayahead’s collaboration with creative studio Heckler to develop short animated films that bring together lived experience perspectives and evidence-informed mental health information. The series aims to make complex experiences easier to understand, challenge misconceptions and encourage more informed conversations.

Mary will share how the project was developed, why animation was chosen and how the films could be used in communities, schools, workplaces and health services. The presentation will explore the potential of creative storytelling to build empathy and reduce stigma around conditions including psychosis, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and severe depression.

Meeting Format

To enable as many members as possible to participate in the meeting, the 2026 AGM will be held face-to-face and as a virtual meeting.  Members can choose to attend physically or join the meeting virtually online via Zoom, which will allow members to fully access and view AGM proceedings, vote, and contribute questions or comments.

Guidance for Online Participants

At the commencement of the meeting, the Chair will provide instructions for members attending online, including how to participate in voting and how to ask questions or make comments during the proceedings.
