Event description

Why have one vocalist when you can have six?

This special Vocal Showcase spotlights six performers, led by acclaimed guest artist Victoria Newton, fresh from performing in Ibiza with her former UK chart-topping band Strike. She’s joined by WAYJO’s Monday Night Orchestra, directed by Ricki Malet.

With a career spanning jazz, pop, and electronic music, Newton has graced the stage at London’s Ronnie Scott’s and headlined festivals across Europe, Asia and South America—bringing world-class artistry to every performance.

Joining her are two of WAYJO’s current rising stars:

Sofie Kerr, WNO’s current vocalist known for her elegant phrasing and emotional depth, and

Holly Forster, a multi-instrumentalist and MNO’s 2025 vocalist, performing her final show before heading to Switzerland to begin postgraduate studies at the Musik Akademie Basel.

The showcase also introduces three emerging vocalists making their MNO debut:

Ebony Ridgeway (St James' Anglican School), who will take over as MNO vocalist after impressing the audition panel last December

Adessa Atyeo (Irene McCormack Catholic College), the new WAYJO NC vocalist

Izzy Stanton (Governor Stirling Senior High School), bringing fresh talent to the stage.

Expect a toe-tapping repertoire of big band classics and vocal jazz gems, including Bye Bye Blackbird, Cheek to Cheek, I Can’t Give You Anything But Love, Almost Like Being in Love, I’ve Got the World on a String, Fine Brown Frame, Just One of Those Things – and many more.

Don’t miss this celebration of vocal jazz and big band brilliance. Seated show.

Doors open 7pm for a 7:30pm start. Duration: 2 hours.
